Rick's Taste Map

By analyzing the movies Rick watched, we identified the nanogenre categories that interest him (like “robbery, coolness, mastermind” at the top).

Since we know (mathematically) how all of these categories are related to each other, we can cluster them and build Rick's taste map. Imagine the movie recommendations we can make once we know Rick's taste map!

NOTE: We added a couple visual elements to help make the map a bit more understandable:

• You can click on the image to make it even bigger (depending on your browser settings, you may have to click on the image again after it loads to see it full-size).
• Some words (like “action” and “heartbreaking”) have been highlighted to show the different areas on the map.
• To emphasize the clustering, we circled some groups of nanogenres categories and gave them more familiar genre labels, like “War” and “Romantic comedies.”
